‘Who’s That Standing with John T?’ is the 2nd album from Glasgow based electronic artist Ronnie Phipps. After spending most of his career behind the music being a lighting designer and operator, the national lockdown in 2020 gave him time to explore his love of electronic and synth music. He released his debut album ‘Memory is a Strange Thing’ in May 2020 via Bandcamp followed by his EP ‘You’ve Got Red’ in June 2020. This new album will be the first available in physical form, pressed on hot pink 140g vinyl and joins a new genre of releases made and driven by the lockdown.

Inspiration started when able to explore further afield during walks around the West of Scotland. The field recorded sounds of the forest in a nearby country park laid the basis for the latest album, many recorded along side his daughter Mollie. The rest of this beautifully emotive album was pieced together using an ever-growing collection of instruments, effects pedals and cassette tapes in his make shift lockdown studio in the living room of his flat in Johnstone, Scotland between March and July 2021.

Artwork for the album was a collaboration between French abstract digital artist Antoine Richard and Scottish digital designer Craig McLachlan.
